A return to Sunday dinner.
One of the upsides of the downturn in economy is that it seems there is a revival of the Sunday dinner at home. We have been doing this now for several weeks and I am quite enjoying it. It is a lot of work, but well worth the effort. While searching the internet for recipe ideas, I have come across many blogs and websites of ladies who have rediscovered this age old, wonderful, tradition of going to church, then coming home to prepare and share dinner with family and friends. It is so much warmer and closer than eating out, and a whole lot cheaper.
I am thankful today for my family and friends and the provision of God, as I plan and prepare for our dinner tomorrow. Try it, I think you'll like it. Make sure to invite someone over to share it with though, because that's part of the fun.

Absolutely love the idea, Sis. Tina. Your post seems to be carrying on with a similar theme I've read on several other blogs. Maybe I'll even catch on if I keep getting these reminders!

Tina: I think it is a great idea to have a home-cooked meal with family and friends, especially since I am in the category of "friends". That was a great meal, Tina. Thanks.

Sunday lunch maybe? With 2-service Sundays thinking about a non-rushed meal is somewhat of a fantasy. Thanks for the nostalgia though! Love it.

This is something we have always enjoyed and done quite regularly with our family and some of our friends. It is exhausting but everytime we do it we have so much fun.
Whenever I have had to do something that I really don't feel like doing I remind myself that I am making memories!

Even when the kids were little and wanted to bake cookies or go sliding or skating on those days when you would just rather stay inside, I would think back on the good memories of my own childhood and remind myself that these were the things they would remember when they were older and doing things with their own kids. Memories last a lifetime so lets make enough good ones to outweigh the bad ones!!!
